The Ries Brothers: Brothers in Groove, Making Waves in the Music Scene

Hailing from St. Petersburg, Florida, The Ries Brothers (pronounced "Rees") are a force to be reckoned with on the music scene. This dynamic duo, Charlie and Kevin Jordan Ries, blends rock, blues, funk, and reggae into a soulful and sophisticated sound that captivates audiences.

Charlie, the elder brother (29), delivers powerful vocals while simultaneously laying down the groove on drums and keyboard bass, creating a unique and full sound. Kevin Jordan (26) complements him perfectly with his guitar, ukulele, and melodica wizardry, adding layers of sonic creativity and soulful harmonies.

Their journey began on the Florida bar circuit as teenagers, where their talent caught the attention of legendary band CHICAGO, leading to two regional tours and a decision to chase their musical dreams full-time.

The Ries Brothers' captivating live performances have earned them a loyal following across various musical genres. They've graced major stages, sharing the spotlight with renowned artists like G Love & Special Sauce, Stick Figure, Pepper, Galactic, Stephen Marley, 311, and Iration. They've also rocked major festivals like Okeechobee Music Fest, Sunfest, Innings Festival, Cali Roots, Gasparilla, and Summer Camp.

The pandemic couldn't stop their creativity. They used the time to collaborate remotely with members of The Lumineers, Gary Clark Jr., Steve Miller Band, and Iration.

Always pushing boundaries, they released a reggae remix of their song "Take It Back" featuring Julian Marley, Bumpin Uglies, Little Stranger, and more. This track was part of their second full-length album, "Paint Your Emotion," which leaned towards alternative rock and was produced by John Agnello (Screaming Trees, Dinosaur Jr.).

Their self-titled EP produced by Gary Clark Jr.'s original drummer and engineer was released in 2022. This EP featured a collaboration with G Love & Cas Haley and hit #1 on Spotify's "Nu Blues" playlist.  2023 saw the release of their dancey blues rock track "Your Friday Night," and “Strange Times”

They’ve supported David Shaw of The Revivalists on two tours and even joined him on stage every night. They further solidified their place in the festival scene with appearances at Cali Vibes, Shaky Knees, Reggae Rise Up Fest, Dry Diggins, Montana Hemp Fest, and Terptown Throwdown.

2024 was a busy year with the band on a 60+ Date run with “Big Something,” multiple new festivals including “Gem and Jam” and “Hulaween” along with regional tours with Badfish and their first Regional Amphitheater tour since CHICAGO with O.A.R.  The band took the rest of the year to focus on writing new music. 2025 started with their 3rd time on the 311 Cruise. “Sweetwater 420 Festival” and “Sunshine Get Down”. They released their first single off their debut album on SKP, a label founded by 311 front man Nick Hexum “Coming Out Swinging”. Their last single “Destination Unknown” dropped April 24th  co-written by Jared Masters. The song is featured track of the independent movie “Plight” a movie about an alternative dystopian reality starring an autistic cast. On May 28, they released the single “Golden Sun” not only co-written by Nick Hexum but also featuring a verse from the front man of 311. With laid back beach vibes, it’s the perfect blend of TRB and Nick.
